Alcove Cabinets

Options
I'd like to get some alcove cabinets built with shelving (on both sides of the fireplace.

Just wondering if anyone has had this done recently and have some example costs?

My house is a 2 bed terrace in South Manchester

  • We had this done just before Christmas on 1 side. Cabinet on the bottom with doors, TV shelf, and 2 shelves above. Was about £800 as I recall (we're in Berkshire). All built really solidly, and left for us to paint.

Had quotes to do this in the region of around £1500 for a pair.

I decided to build my own, cost me about £100 for the MDF and another £100 for the doors which I ordered specially. With other sundries probably cost me about £250 in total plus my time.

We have since had six shelves fit inside the alcoves by a local carpenter (3 on each side). This wasn't too expensive, think it cost about £300.
