Talk Talk UFO issues

Hi, I'm having some issues with Talk Talk and need some advice.
Talk talk agreed to take over from BT fibre on the 7th Feb (using their own underground cable for BB + phone eliminating BT altogether- Talk Talk UFO 900mb upload and 900mb download speeds). When they arrived to install they said there was a problem with the cable they ran down the street and would need to come back.
They came back on the 10th (after some pushing) and did the intall, signed it off and left. 3 days later I had no phone line and when I looked into it they had not ported over the line and I was still being supplied by BT. BT blocked all calls from that day onwards.
After numerous phone calls, live chats, etc they ported the line over yesterday at approx 2.30pm some 15 days after they said they would.
During this mess BT kept my boradband open for the first 3 days and phone for the first 6 days but out of a discounted contract and at premium rates + no phone at all for the rest of the duration.
I have argued talk talk should pay for this as it is there issue not mine as if they intalled on the 7th I would have not incurred any costs at all.
After a phone call yesterday firstly they said I am not due for any reimbursement at all and I cannot leave my contract as its 20 days from when i signed up not when my services went live. After a lot of arguing they offered £5 off the first 6 months (totaling £30) and would let me leave immediately with no fee incurred.....but when I then spoke to someone else they said I would incure an admin and useage fee for the time my broadband was live.
I would like to know if they can charge a fee when they didnt supply my service until yesterday (15 days after install date) surely its 20 days from supply not sign up especially after all the mistakes they made and also should I be entitled to compensation for money spent providing alternative services (IE: BT bill for this period came to £64) while they couldnt fulfil their contract.
Thanks for any advice you can give (and sorry for the long post)

I'm guessing you live somewhere like York, if you are on TT's own external fibre ...you would have to look at TT's T&C's to see if you can leave penalty free, but cancelling within a period is normally based on the date of order, not the date of provision, it's not a try before you buy thing, but gives the option to cancel if you were pressured into a sale, and regretted it soon after the 'salesman' left.
If your BT account were only active upto a few days after the original TT date , how is the bill as much as £64 ?, if TT asked BT for your number to be ported, that should in effect 'cease' your BT line, and as you cannot have BT broadband without a 'line' the broadband cease would be triggered automatically , I think around £30 of this charge is a broadband cease charge ,( which you would have had to pay even if TT managed your install and number port perfectly.)
The thing with all these providers it they are pretty cut throat to get your business, and operate on small margins, so they are unlikely to offer much in the way of compensation0 -
Thanks for the reply.
The £64 is because BT are charging for full month usage as I have effectively gone in to another month (even though it was 3 days BB and 6 days phone) and now I m not tied into a discounted contract its at their premium rate.0
