I will see what happens next week 28 Dec.
Cold call two months ago i flatly refused on grounds of downtime involved in making way for the install - 3 weeks.
Email were installing 28 Dec, if wish to cancel etc click here and did so.
Last 3 weeks had 4 emails please confirm appointment 28th.
Two more cold calls where i went ape and further calls i didnt answer.
They are pushing it.
Only benefit to them is the sacking of the meter readers and snooping.
Benefits to the customer virtualy none.0 -
What a massive mistake it has been giving people like these last two posters be the boss and tell the suppliers how they want to run their businessesI will see what happens next week 28 Dec.

Most of the EU and the rest of the world involved in modernising the energy market made it mandatory to accept the much better smart meters. We even have a couple on here bleating on about the batteries dying prematurely in the gas smart meters.
Gas meter batteries have been failing for the last 15 years in dumb meters .Not a peep about that ever on here but any excuse will do to undermine the superior meters.
The UK made the smart meter roll out mandatory when Ed Miliband was Energy Minister.
Its not like the Tories to go all soft but thats what they in did allowing Joe Public to have a say in the decision to say yes or no to a smart meter. Utterly ridiculous state of affairs leading to "characters " like the poster above to say "they are pushing it ".
I think its the reverse personally.
I personally also strongly object to suppliers going down the cut priced route and installing in Secure Liberty smart meters. These cheapo s hail from India and are business meters totally unsuitable for the UK domestic energy market.
I have nothing against "Indian "made goods but they are known for value for money in the same way most Chinese goods are.
Little two -bit suppliers like Ovo and Utilita grabbed at Secure Liberty meters many years ago as a money saver but now one of the bigger players like Eon have started to use them
.Eon have money problems having flirted with going bust and have made the decision to foist these on their customers without gathering feedback from their meter readers (like me ! ) at just how unsuitable they are so I will be accused of being a hypocrite because I m refusing these meters myself if Eon want me to have them installed at my place..
I won`t be staying with Eon long enough probably anyway to have to refuse them0
