Tracking life insurance policies

Does anyone know how you can find if someone had life insurance policy and if so how too. A relative recently died and I'm trying to help her children to see if there are any life policies to cover the funeral expenses. I think they might have had an Old co-op one but haven't got the policy?

There is no easy database to access.

You may have already done this, but have you taken a look at their bank statements to see if they were paying premiums to a life company?

Can someone ask the Co-op directly?

Take a look at their bank statements to see what premiums they were paying and to whom.
