Hi all
Hope everyone is well.
Quick question on behalf of a friend.
Are you still able to claim PPI compensation on bank overdrafts? They still have the overdraft now and have had it for about the last 10 years.
Thanks

PPI on overdrafts does exist but it is extremely rare. Are you sure it was PPI?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

No not sure yet. Going to help and go through old paperwork tonight and see what we can find. Wasn't sure if it was going to be a waste of time or not, as I've read older threads on here about other ppl claiming to have been sold PPI on their overdrafts.0

Hi,
I had overdraft protection insurance with Barclays bank and I complained about it as I was told it was compulsory to me having an overdraft facility, I needed an overdraft at the time for various reasons but was basically a housewife so it would not have been of any benefit. Anyway, I received back over 8k.
At the time of applying for the overdraft I was also told I must have a Barclays additions account which was a straightforward lie and I was also given those fees back (approx. £500)
So yes, overdraft insurance certainly exists, it works in the same way as PPI and if mis-sold is certainly worth complaining about.0 -
I believe that the account is a Natwest Advantage Gold current account. They still have the account now, but I have seen from previous statements of unusual charges (And I don't mean the interest charges on the overdraft). I will find out some more info. Do you think they have a case?0
