Defaulted accounts removed when??

Hi guys,

Trying to clear somethings up. Conflicting information on the internet.

I have an account that has a default date of '18th Feb 2011' the account is under "closed accounts" in my noddle report. Now a lot of information says this will disappear 6 years after the default date (it has not disappeared yet incidentally). I have also seen in a couple of places that it is 7 years...? So which is it??

This account is in my closed accounts and marked as satisfied and has a default date of 18th Feb 2011. It also says last updated 16/05/2016.

Should I be contacting Noddle to tell them to remove it?? or has the 6 years now become 7 years??

Thanks

It is six years. Noddle probably only update these changes on a monthly basis, give it until the end of march and if its still showing contact them then.

  • it is SIX years.

what date of the month does your noddle report update? if it's before the 18th of the month you will have to wait for the next update to see it yourself.

if you apply for credit tho' today onwards, the report the lender sees will be updated immediately from the 19th Feb & the default will not be showing.

I asked noddle customer services the same question so I am 100% sure I am correct.

As the above posters have said. If you use one of the paid CRA'S it's probably gone already. The free ones update once a month.

I believe it can take up to 7 years in the USA. Try to avoid .com websites when researching these Kind of things.
