Leafleting the area you want to live

Has anyone done this? Did you have much success?

I want to stay in the area I live but there is so much demand for properties- I've had an offer accepted on mine (a 2 bed also in the area) but struggling to find 3 beds.

I did it, but no phone calls.

Patience is needed. Rent for the time being.
  • We live in a small village and it did work for some friends, but that's the only time I've ever heard of anyone doing it.

My local town has a Facebook group someone posted they were looking for a property, I knew my mother in law was preparing to sell so replied. That generated four viewers, so that might be another option.

I'd search the forum as there have been several mentions before with template suggestions and advice.

I am buying soon and will consider other roads but really have pinpointed one particular road so will also try leafleting! You never know! One house there is coming back on the market soon, but there's no guarantee we'll get it.

I put up a notice on lamp posts in a couple of roads I was interested in when I was desperate. I did get a phone call from one man but he had a somewhat inflated view of what his house was worth. Clearly a chancer who might've considered selling if I was willing to pay a couple of hundred k more than it was actually worth.
  • It worked very well for my friends...got two replies, first house too expensive but the other was spot on and they moved within 2 months.
