Bank of Scotland vantage account, conditions for interest

What is the monthly account billing period, i.e. Between which dates do the two direct debits need to be paid to qualify? Would it be the date account opened and a month from then, and the same each month or is it simply 2nd-1st?

It's calendar months (i.e. 1st to last day of month), as per http://www.bankofscotland.co.uk/bankaccounts/vantage

Does the £1k minimum pay in need to be from an external source or can it be a transfer from another vantage account?

Not at all, I've 4 Lloyds group accounts so know that the interest shows on the 2nd working day. I asked purely because I've opened a new vantage account which I've only funded with my other one, so nothing external. All other accounts externally funded.
