Buying a house in a different county.

Hello everyone!
We are in a bit of a confused situation we cannot decide whether we d like to buy where we live and work at the moment , or we d like to relocate 300 miles away.
What my question would be is , if we live in A and work in A if I say find a house in B would the lenders be willing to give you a mortgage 300 miles away (B) .
As if not we would have to move in a rent , find new jobs and then apply for a mortgage in the new county if we wanted to relocate.
What confused me is that I spoke to a broker and said that to them that we are looking for a mortgage somewhere else and she never said anything.
So I am totally confused.
Thank you so much.

Is it possible to write your post with what it is you want rather than in cryptic code?
If you live in England but want to buy in Wales, it is very different to living in England but buy in France.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. They said "county" not "country" in the OP.
Anyway it would wouldn't matter one jot where if where you worked is in a different county to where want to buy a house. I've rarely worked in the same county to the house I've bought.0 -
Good shout. Apologies, I mis read that.
Some lenders do actually check how far your work is from the property you are buying and if it is over x distance/travelling time they will question it and could well decline because of it.
However, not all lenders do that. So it can be done but you need to be careful with your choice of lender.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I think the first thing you need to decide is what you actually want to do.
There will be no problem getting a mortgage for a house anywhere, but unless you have significant savings to cover, say, 6 months' living expenses, then you need to have the new jobs lined up before you commit to a mortgage on a house 300 miles away.
Moving that sort of distance is always going to be more expensive than just moving across town - you will need to go and visit the new area (and probably need to stay overnight), if you aren't familiar with the area then you should go into rental until you can decide which part you want to live in. And if you're both changing jobs there is likely to be a period between jobs when neither of you has an income.
But to answer your main question - I've rarely moved less than 300 miles, it's perfectly possible. And moving from one county to another won't make any difference at all.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -
You cannot move 300 miles taking a mortgage then get new jobs when you get there. That is a plain fact.
You can buy 300 miles away and commute to your current jobs if you can evidence to the lender it is practical so you to do so and you have links in the area in which you are purchasing.I am a Mortgage Broker
