Not at all.
He either buys it or loses the £100.
That's how deposits work.
The delays do sound a bit suspect. Maybe they have found a fault and are trying to cover it up. I doubt they are repairing the bodywork because they wouldn't care about that.
My bet is that an engine management light has come on and they are trying to get rid of it cheaply (check that all the lights work when you start the car, wouldn't be unusual for them to disconnect a warning light)
Good luck OP
Thanks! Yup the deposit thing isn't suspicious - that's normally in many industries. I could have chosen not to put a deposit down, but it would mean I could make the trip only to find it had been sold to someone else in the meantime.
Also, we are talking a 2 hour drive. It's not exactly a voyage of a lifetime. But I agree it's a bit of a distance if there will be problems down the road.0 -

Recently accident damaged and they wre bodging it enough to pass an MOT?
I hope you know what your looking for with bodu repairs because your going to need to go over that car with a magnifying glass.
Missing or damaged crash bars, check the chassis for repairs etc etc. Unless you know how and what to look for i think your MAD!!
Go and find the old 5th gear Focus crash tests. The car looked mint, but previous unseen accident repairs and it folded when crashed into another focus that had not been repaired.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
