Single person insurance when travelling in group

A sanity check on my understanding on travel insurance as my exposure to this for many years has simply been annual family cover.

Background
My daughter is going on holiday with a group of friends in the summer and is not the lead name on the booking - we want to get her insurance.

Insurance seems straightforward (especially as she is 18 so classed as an adult) and quotes are reasonable on comparison sites but are there any caveats insuring a single name when travelling as part of a group? I can't think of any and its not mentioned in the wording of the sample policy I downloaded.

Thanks in advance

Is her name on flight ticket and hotel room ?

If not she might not get her money back if she had to cancel.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

I very much doubt if it's possible for an 18-year old to fly anywhere in the world without a ticket in their own name.

Is she not covered on your annual policy?

Yes the ticket is/will be in her own name. It is a straightforward package holiday with Jet2 and all 'adults' aged 18 so a list of names with a nominated lead person.
Lead person has paid the deposit on a single credit card.

The annual family cover is with my joint bank account so only covers her if travelling with parent(s) as I rang them to ask.

Its not going to break the bank as the policy seems relatively cheap as a one off payment but i'm just wondering what key facts or exclusions to pick out of the fine print. May be worrying over nothing.

You haven't said where she is going , but for Europe a free EHIC would be a good starting point- and no, of course I don't mean instead of insurance.

Check to see if they plan any activities that are considered high risk by insurers- trying to think what is classed like that ...rock climbing, white water rafting perhaps?

I agree, and EHIC is already sorted.

From a parents perspective, her going away on first holiday with friends is high risk for me

    Thanks for all the replies.
