    I hope Amex is not taking a chance in letting in people who can't afford to pay back what they borrow. Next thing will be the 60 quid annual fee on my green card increased to cover their losses!

    Used to be that an excellent financial background was required but now anyone and everyone can get one!

    Who knows. I applied at the weekend and got told it would be referred and they would be in contact. MSECC gave me a 90% chance after applying I was on a different comparison site and got told 60%. Haven't heard back and assumed the worst, then a card pops through the post this morning 10K limit - still haven't received an email.

    If its been a few days after you've been referred, call them.

    Hi there,

    Yes rang them last night application has been approved card i on the way.

    I applied for the green charge card
    A: As I pay my balances off monthly
    B: it had a 9.5 chance of acceptance rather than the 8.5 across the other cards.

    Overall it wasn't a straight accept but I'm glad it gone through.
