ppi reclaim after divorce

During my lengthy divorce I realised that PPI was being paid to Barclays on the master and visa cards. I wrote to Barclays saying I had proof that I had paid for all the cards bills and the old statements showed clearly that PPI was being charged. I wrote to Barclays soon after but they rejected my claim.
I was the additional card holder on the statements as the original application was made by my ex. He has also refused to help me in the PPI reclaim so I need to make this claim on my own.
I'm a single mum with 3 young kids to support with zero maintenance from their father who is now with his mistress less than half his old age! So I do need any advice to help me get the PPI from the giant banks who are just use bullying tactics as usual? Help!!

You say you've already made a complaint and been rejected.
Assuming you were rejected on the basis that you were simply the additional card holder, you would have to get your ex-husband to complain as he was the actual account holder. It matters little that you paid the credit card bills as It's even likely your ex-husband would be the only recipient of any redress (were it be awarded).
It sounds like you've met a brick wall with this. Please explain what you mean by "bullying" by the bank?
If you have anyone to feel aggrieved about it's your deliberately disinterested husband.0 -

As the additional cardholder, you are lucky they took the complaint from you at all as it is not your account. However, even if you had been successful, you would not have received the money as that goes to the account holder. He has also refused to help me in the PPI reclaim so I need to make this claim on my own.
You say you have already been rejected. You get one attempt. So I do need any advice to help me get the PPI from the giant banks who are just use bullying tactics as usual?
No. Not as usual. No bullying tactics here.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Hi,
I am new to this site and Im hopeful I am posting in the correct place!
I recently recieved a letter from Lloyds about a PPI complaint on my old mortgage with my Ex Husband.
I reluctantly called him and asked him if this was his doing. He sounded shocked and believed that they wouldnt contact me, even though the mortgage was joint, the PPI was on his wage as he was the main earner. He said hes not happy to proceed with the claim as he doesnt want me to recieve any money.
Can I claim on my own? Should I just fill in the form and return it? Problem is that he took all the old paperwork on all of the mortgage so I barely have any info on this to give Lloyds. Although Im impressed Lloyds (as I still bank with them) Had my new address and details.0 -
Depends on whether Lloyds want both signatures to complain or just one.
If both, he has to agree, if one, go ahead.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

It's a bit harsh for him to turn down any potential payout just to stop you getting any (though no guarantee they will accept a complaint and refund it). Maybe approach through a neutral third party to negotiate it? As you have been approached it seems they need both parties to agree to it. If he withdraws the complaint that's it - a joint policy need a joint complaint. If he paid it though, seems fair he can choose to proceed or notSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
