Engine oil leak
Comments
-
Hi guys,
I have received a response back from the garage:Our Technician has found that the leak is coming from the Oil Filter Housing Gaskets and I have asked the question as to whether it could be accident related and they have said in their opinion it’s not accident related but unfortunately just wear and tear and over a period of time has just got worse.
The technician is suggesting replacing:-
Oil filter housing gaskets
Oil filter
Drive belt – this has been badly contaminated by the oil and needs replacing
Tensioner – this has also been badly contaminated by the oil and needs replacing
Deflector
Replacing the oil
Gasket
The cost to carry out this work - £1023.00 inc. VAT
Please let me know thoughts guys!0 -
That sounds very expensive to me, taking into account that no major parts are being replaced?
Can you ask for a detailed breakdown of the cost?0
