But what does it matter? Ultimately, how much it costs you to change is ALL that matters ... HOW that is made up is irrelevant. You can easily get quotes from various places, including working out a private sale, but in the end it's the difference that matters - how much you need to find to get the end product you're looking for.
So how will you compare the trade in price with a private sale if you only know the cost to change and how will you know the discount the dealer will give you on the car if you only know the cost to change?.

Putting it simply, a "cost to change" makes it far too easy for the dealer to hide a crap discount or a crap trade in price.0
