Nat West fraud when paying?

On several occasions I have had the HSBC fraud team calling me and my card has been stopped after unwarranted purchases.
On each occasion it is a 'coincidence' that I had paid money from my HSBC card (via phone) to the Nat West.
Now, this time it was a new card after the last payment to Nat West and I had not used it for anything other than once at Boots last week, deliberately to monitor any issues.
Then the same again today, then I remembered that I heard a click on the line as I was going through the payment procedure. Sixth sense should have warned me.
I have heard that Nat West have had fraud issues before and wondered if you had any complaints or concerns?
I am going to call them tomorrow and inform them but I know they will deny and problems.....any advice?
No money taken as HSBC stopped fraud payments each time.

Are you also a customer of Nat West ?

If not they won't talk to you.

I don't understand what you are trying to do. Are you trying to pay a bill ?
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

So are you calling NatWest to make the payment on the number provided on your credit card statement? If you are then I think it is so unlikely that this is the cause of your problems that it's not even worth considering, I'd be looking at what other uses you have made of your HSBC card before getting the call from them.
  • Stop making payments by phone to Nat West - why not use HSBC online banking to make the payment??
"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"
  • Thank you all
As this was a new card with literally 2 uses, with common factor being of attempted fraud when I pay the nat west I'm 99.9% it is on that connection...so will use online or more likely cheque payments in future. As attempted fraud happens on a regular basis I will use card for what I used the second purchase for and monitor that. I rarely go out and card not used much so won't be a problem just annoying and inconvenient. Thanks again.
