BT Sports - contract

Hello
I am paying so much out on SKY and BT sports. I want to ditch BT which I pay £22 per month for. Problem is that I am around 2/3 months into a contract of 12 months.
What would be the impact if I cancelled the DD without notifying them and simply letting them end the service - other than loss of BT would there be any other consequences?
Many Thanks

Consequence is the debt collectors will come knocking and your credit file will be trashed .
But a possible get out depending upon what services you have from BT .

My contract with BT is not shown on my credit report currently. Would you expect non payment to really have an impact here? (Perhaps I am being naive) I have never not paid any direct debit so this goes against my own approach to paying bills, just trying to reduce my outgoings as much as possible.0

You will increase your outgoings considerably when the debt collection agency contacts you, both BT & Sky take that side of things very, very seriously.thatwilldo wrote: »My contract with BT is not shown on my credit report currently. Talk to everybody and explain your situation and try to reduce your package (and costs).0 -
Thanks so much for the responses. Just spoken to BT and they offered it to me for £10.99 for 18 months but I said I wanted to cancel so it's 30 days notice then cancelled.
Glad I did it the proper way.
Thanks again.0 -
So is there a termination charge for ending the contract early?0

No cancellation charge.0

Guess they're swallowing the very large and bitter pill following their recently announced price hikes and everyone using those as a reason to jump ship. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Thats not true as everyone is not jumping ship .
The vast majority do pay the new prices and thats why they go up .
Its relativly few that are money aware like MSE users .
For a large number the £3.75 for BT Sports would be excellent value especially if they want football .Price a Sky Sports package up and it wont be £4 .0
