Absolutely, the name of the site is why the Op came on here asking if it was a good deal
To which my answer is "no, not particularly - because you're spending a large chunk of change on the 'kudos' of renting a brand spankin' new discount-brand car for a very small amount of use".

I do hope you allow me to hold and express my opinion? Thank you.

but for me it just seems like a very cheap way to own a new car,

You don't own it, you're paying to hire it. You cannot modify it, you can't do what you want with it unless you put it back to how it was when you come to the end of the lease and if you do over the agreed mileage you pay a penalty. That is not ownership.

  • Ok jeez

    * it just seems like a very cheap way to have use of a new car
  • Been discussing with a friend who is kinda against leasing ... once we got into the detail it turns out they tend to get a new card every 4 years (well not brand new) and they just part ex in their old one and top up their loan with Tesco - so also he suggests yeah but you don't own it I own mine ... yeah on paper you do technically ... but is it really any different to leasing he is making a payment to a loan every month for that car and will continue to do so as he always wants a. Newer better car and his current one has always devalued so he will always be topping up that loan .. and the cars he gets are generally 5yr old plus each time . For same loan payments he could have a new car ... as long as he couldn't accept he is not the registered owner on a piece of paper in the log book.

Ps - re this being a money saving site - I read by some financial gurus that you should buy anything that goes up in value e.g an asset like a house and rent anything that is liability and depreciates e.g a car . Food for thought !

It sounds unbelievably cheap to me. If its real and thats the car you want I'd take it before they retract it.

It does actually work out at £70/month and £2600 down but even so looks like a bargain to me.
As said, it is for 18 months not 2 years.
  • Yeah think it will really like the fact it's a hybrid as it's something I have fancied.

Yeah I called them and they offfered same price for 3yr lease same down payment . Oh I didn't factor in the VAT even still think it's cheap
Have about 4.5k saved so just going to stick that in a speedster account and forget about it for 3 years . Then start again.
