  • What does the emergency cover provide cover for?

I'd imagine the emergency plumber is only coming out to shut off the water?

Then, if your floor/carpet is damaged and you claim on the insurance for replacing that, that's when the NCB is effected.

Hi thx for your quick reply. Water gushes out only when flushed. We have emergency cover & it looks like a seal near base as worn away. I assume they could replace this?

If they can't repair it there and then all they might do is shut off the water, as the cover is there only to stop an emergency, and they can do that by shutting off the water. It may take them a couple of days to submit the quote to the insurers and get that approved IF it's covered.

I don't think that is how emergency policy works. Out of a main service is classified as an emergency. So if it is your only toilet in the house that is leaking, they need to fix it rather than just turning off the water.

Policy wording I've usually seen generally refers to some element of urgency to prevent further damage occurring. This sounds like a simple maintenance job, not an emergency.
