Hard search?

Options
This is showing on my husbands clear score report.
It is in the section that says other lenders can see it. Can anyone confirm this is a hard search??

I dont believe they would see who did the search but what type of search it was eg for a credit card, loan etc.

A mortgage and it's in this section (copied and pasted from clearscore site)

    Credit application searches
A credit application search is done when you apply for credit. They are visible to other lenders and too many may harm your score.

DCFC is correct. Other potential lenders will see the date of search, type of search and product applied for, and sometimes the amount of credit asked for and date of birth provided. They will not know it was searched by Leeds B Soc and will not know whether or not the credit was granted.

It is definitely a hard search based on what you have pasted

    Thank you.

As the hard search was done before our full mortgage application was in, husband was finding it hard to believe. Don't think he can believe someone is finally happy with his credit. (There's nothing wrong with it, he's just anal about it.)

Don't forget that mortgage providers try to catch out their customers by mugging them with a second hard search very close to completion. You know, just at the time you may be taking out credit to buy furniture and the like.

Yes! I've warned him they may do another just before. It states in their terms and conditions they may do so 'during final checks'. He wouldn't even pay for a Chinese tonight in case they asked for more bank statements and wanted to know what he'd spent £8 on! Nightmare.
