NVQ Certificates

I did an NVQ in Retail Skills. My GCSE in English Language was too old so I had to complete a basic English assessment. I think they said anything over 5 years old was too old - but not 100% on that timeframe.
I think it only took a few weeks for my certificate to come through was everything had been submitted.
BTW these sort of qualifications are a bit pointless, you are no more likely to get a job in retail/get a pay rise/promotion - companies will look at your 9 years experience not the certificate. I only did mine because I was volunteering one day a week and thought as a stay at home mum it would help to fill the gap on my CV when I do return to work.0 -
I completed at the end of October 2016 a NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Customer Service.
The work I did, was independently verified by the end of November 2016.
By early/mid January I am told there is a hold up in sending me the Certificates, because the training provider needed a GCSE Certificate that stated I did 'English Language' however it said 'English' things were slightly different back in 2002. But this was overcome with some explanation.
By 6 February 2016 I get a along the lines of waiting on ACE to send Framework Certificate.
I am now being told the Company that provides the Certificates may have posted them out late.
How long must I wait?
I've asked the Assessor but the way she puts herself across by text it is not her affair, they seem anxious to get you on these courses, but wash their hands when it comes to helping. 'It is out of my hands' to but quote.
I've asked, if she would step in? If need be. I don't even get a response!
Anyhow she says she has all the other Certificates, but not the Framework one, I asked, how many are there in total, once again, no reply.
At the time I just thought this was a good course to do at the time, being that I already worked in Retail.
The way the units for this course were worded, it may as well have been academic, i.e. at College.
Not sure what to do here. It may be early days, but right now it feels all for nothing.
Thanks.
It sounds more like an Apprenticeship framework rather than NVQ only, which is what the hold up with English would be. (it is a required element of Framework, rather than NVQ only.)
Assessors are quite limited in what they can do, it is more of the IQA/IV role; you should have their contact details, I would certainly raise this with them.0 -
I don't have any further contact details for the possibility to raise the situation up, but I will try my best this week to figure something out.
I have cut any further text messaging out, and just started email contact instead.
Limited she may or may not be, but she won't even agree to be of any assistance should the time come.
Prior to all this debacle, she signed me up to start a NVQ 3 in Management, but that has gone quiet. (Not heard a peep since December 2016).0 -

Do you not have a copy of the appeals procedure in your portfolio?0 -
What portfolio? I don't have anything like this
Nothing is paper based,0 -

Yes, learning assistant. But I have not seen anything for appeals procedure?0

That is your portfolioThere *should* be an appeals procedure there, although I do not like Learning Assistant, and to my great relief we do not use it so unfortunately I cannot guide you as to where it might be on there.
Every learner should be issued with the centre's appeals procedure, and the IQA details would be on there. That said, they can just bung it onto an e-portfolio somewhere (like LA) and not make it particularly clear.
Final straw would be the Awarding Body... do you know who yours is? City and Guilds, Pearsons?0 -
Again I have no idea who the awarding body is either. I don't think she'd be very forthcoming in assisting with that either.
I think my final straw would be to call one of the nearest offices, or even visit it.0
