Speeding ticket

Hi!

Any advice?

Last year got a speeding fine. Promptly paid my fine and sent my licence to have points out on. At the same time also paid another speeding fine. Thought matter resolved. Now received court notice about the ticket - apparently even though they took the fine money, they had not endorsered my licence, so still outstanding. Police say case now over to court and nothing they can do.

Really annoyed - their admin error now results this!! Any advice? Who else to complain to?

Thank you

When you say "paid my fine", I presume what you really meant was "paid the fixed penalty offer to avoid going to court". Only the court can impose a fine.

What does the court notice want you to do? Is it a summons? if so, I suggest you plead guilty, explain that you already paid the fixed penalty, and due to an admin error which was no fault of yours, they didn't endorse the licence. Send the licence in again, asking them to endorse it with the points, but no additional fine as it was their error, not yours.

@OP - real expert advice from bargepole. Follow exactly.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
