Hope someone can help, I have a HP 3634 printer, I bought it last summer. Set it up in ten minutes and all worked fine.
Come to last night, I decided to change my wifi password, something I do every few months. (It's a VM super hub 2)
Now the printer refuses to connect to wifi.
At first it was saying wrong passsword, when I know 100% the password is correct.
I uninstalled everything, removed all traces of HP and reinstalled, no dice. I rebooted my router. No change. I reset my router to factory, still no.
Okay, lets start again, uninstall and reinstall, three times I tried, it wont connect, it change from incorrect password to 'unknown error' and now it says the SSID can't be found.
I have tried installing directly to wifi, it asks me to print off the wifi info and give either the IP address or the HP code, I put one of those in, it loops back to asking for it again. I've reset my router to factory twice now and rebooted the computer after each uninstall.
I have tried installing via USB then switching to wifi, it finds my network, asks for the password then either says wrong password or unknown error. I have copied and pasted my wifi password and typed it in manually. Wont connect,
I've selected my SSID from the list and typed it in manually. Still the same.
I have changed my router settings to every type of secutity it has. The issue persists. I changed the password back to what it was, no good. I changed the password to 12345, wont connect.
It will only connect if I completely diasble security which is obviously not an option.
I've tried all the trouble shooting steps and tools, it will not connect.
What can I do?

I had a very similar problem with slightly older HP OfficeJet 7400 (from memory) which I was given. That too would only connect with the WiFi security turned off and I never found out why. As it was fairly easy to connect with a network cable I didn't waste too long on it but still probably spent an hour doing what you have done! That also was with a Virgin Super Hub.
The previous owner of my printer had experienced no problems and I have not had any similar issues with anything else.
As an experiment, if you have an old hub and some time to waste, trying putting your Virgin Hub into modem only mode and use the older device as the WiFi router.0 -
Thanks. It doesn't have an Ethernet port or I would connect it up and forget about it.
It was working perfectly yesterday and has done ever since I bought it. All I did was change the wifi password and now it won't connect.
Unfortunately I don't have another modem or router to try.Sigless0 -
Change SSID itself, it might work, HP printer "remember" old information and may fail to update the password information etc. So changing SSID would be the easiest workaround.
Hope it helps.0 -
PC wont connect or printer wont connect? Printer wireless light on?
I find the router gives the printer a different IP each time unless you set a static one. Or change the IP in the printer properties.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

I had already set a static IP because I'm having some issues with a tablet dropping connection and that was one of the suggested fixes.
The wifi light was flashing but whenever I'd click to connect it would give me various different error messages. Manually entered SSD was incorrect (never enterened it manually, selected it from the list), wrong password, or justy 'unknown'.
Finally got it working, I googled how to reset to factory, did that three times until printing the network info gave me a WPS pin, previously it would just be blank and the ip address was 0.0.0.0.
Finally got the WPS pin and added that via my router, took three tried (kept timing out) but it connected eventually, ran the set up on my dektop again and it connected first time.Sigless0 -
Congratulation. it would be some hardware bugs, you may want to update a firmware. I have got a brother printer, and it was quite a temperamental, but since I have updated its firmware, I don't see any problem.
Waring: I think you know what you are doing. But some say "If it ain't broke, don't fix it " and if you think it is ok, you may prefer to leave it.0
