I stupidly tried to move my grandfather clock and have done quite a bit of damage. To say I am upset is an understatement as it belonged to my parents.
My question is this, I am insured for accidental damage, would this be covered? and secondly, my insurance with this company runs out in mid October, and I WAS thinking of changing companies to take advantage of a good offer through Quidco.......would this now be unadvisable?
I have no idea how much it will cost to repair, but I imagine it won't be cheap, and I also have to try and find someone who IS able to repair it.
Any advice please?

I think you need to find out how much it will cost to repair.
Is it definied as a "valuable" under your policy and if so, have you got it registered seperately or is it within the "single item limit"?0 -
Be careful how you word the claim when discussing it on the phone with insurer. As an example, many will not pay out if the item is "in the process of being cleaned or restored". So if you said, "I was moving it to clean it" you may scupper your chances.
Not that I am suggesting you lie of course.0
