Have an issue with my laptop, it takes an age to switch on, I can hear the fan going but nothing on the screen. I have done the battery pull. Also replaced the battery. Nothing on the screen then after a few hours it shows Windows. Any ideas? Hard drive on the way out? Had the laptop since 2009.

However, you can also simply click the Start button, type Event in the Start Search box, and press Enter once Event Viewer appears and the top of the results display. ...... look under SYSTEM especially around the time you switched it on. The red and yellow warnings, but not all are disastrous and the dcom ones are common.0 -
