Need advice on best current account and debit card - criteria being that it can be run online as I travel alot and the debit card incurs no/lowest foreign money fees. Am with N&P which is now going under (no foreign fees and all payments etc can be run via online) Was looking at Virgin (no fee foreign transaction) which I now find has limited actions via online (no payments can be made or set up whilst I am travelling or not) which is no good to me as a current account, tho maybe just used for travelling purchases? So am now looking for a decent current account (which will always be in credit) for my main income to be paid into and bill payments/dds going out. Already have NW FlexDirect that covers my travel Ins (no fee foreingn purchase also) - Any recommendations guys???

I use the following:
* Halifax Clarity for all overseas spending - as much as possible - not really suitable in "cash is king" countries
* Metro Bank debit card for withdrawing cash in SEPA countries
* N&P debit card for withdrawing cash elsewhere
I plan to replace the latter with a Monzo prepaid card.
You can withdraw cash on the Halifax Clarity card, but since I use this for everyday spending too, it would involve forfeiting part of the interest free period on statemented purchases in order to pay off the unstatemented cash withdrawals.0 -
Flex plus has a fee but debit card is free for cash withdrawals.
I also have a Halifax clarity and nationwide select.0
