The Anime Tourism Association is offering 30 lucky anime fans the chance to participate in an official free tour to selected locations in Tokyo and Gifu prefecture depicted in the hit anime film “Your Name” (Kimi no Na wa).
The tour will offer the participants the chance to visit locations such as shrines, cafes, restaurants, and stations that were featured in the film in exchange for giving feedback on them as tourist destinations. For lucky anime fans, this is the perfect way to bring your dreams to life!
The tour covers the cost of participants’ return flights to Japan, transportation fees, accommodation and meals during the tour, and will run for 5 or 6 days on selected dates between 1st March and 30th April 2017. Exact departure dates and durations will depend on participants’ departure location.
To enter, all applicants need to do is complete a short form online. Applications are open from 20th January until 28th February 2017, so enter now to be in with a chance.
The tour is a collaborative project authorized by the government of Japan that aims to enable foreign tourists to experience and enjoy the sites featured in the film. The government hopes that this will allow it to obtain valuable insight and feedback in order to help improve transport and tourist facilities for future visitors.
