Am I missing something?

Did I not get an email saying they were putting together some sort of amazing energy club deal?

Then I get email saying all but SSE had increased their price already

Where the hell is OFGEM who said

Ofgem warns big six to swallow rising energy costs

Energy bills have ‘no reason’ to rise, says Ofgem

Regulator argues hedging should protect consumers from price increases

Ofgem is another board room bloated not fit for purpose group of nonces who are toothless, "oh we negotiated a fixed price for payment meters" are they kidding? People should be grateful for £80 a YEAR?

Meanwhile the energy companies make 24% profit after bleating they only made 4% and they "play the markets" where they make 3x the profit they make from screwing us.

Shouldn't Martin be making representations directly to the Ministers responsible for this debacle?

These companies are bleeding us dry and Broadband is just the same, 9% rise when inflation is so low.

These markets are given a license to print money and the regulators are NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.

Can somebody start one of those online campaigns please so we can get this dicussed in Parliament

Headline

"REGULATORS OFGEM, OFCOM AND OFWAT NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE - consumers demand action"

Please share your ideas on what should be done.

I will start,

Abandon this £14bn smart meter project that WE ARE PAYING FOR

Scrap the Standing charge with no retaliation charges

Reduce prices by 20% with no price increased for 5 years.

Over to YOU

Inflation is calculated in arrears on prices that companies charge, so price rises will always happen before inflation rises. Prices are rising due to the drop in sterling last june and it's effect on inflation is slowly starting to show up.

The energy market is still pretty competitive if you are prepared to switch, which a lot of people are not & it's those people who give them the largest profits. The cheapest companies are operating at a loss, which OFGEM will eventually regulate against to prevent another "GB Energy".

As we import a lot of our fuel, the prices are only going to increase due to pressure on sterling and import tariffs after we leave the EU. Figuring out how to use less energy now is your best bet.

I see you ve added 2 billion extra to the smart meter roll out "which we are paying for " WE are also paying for all meter readers , all meter exchanges for non smart meters, all theft of energy which is increasing on a daily basis , all billing processes which require very expensive call centres staff to operate.ALL bill mess ups due to a stupid UK public who live in la-la land and are happy to accept a very low direct debit because they will not let meter readers into the property to verify readings.. etc etc etc .Smart meters will end all that and its money well spent. Could have been a lot less if the government had let the experts install all the smart meters at one street at a time (the local DNO s) not in dribs and drabs by all the suppliers who now have to get a team in place to install them.

Maybe you have come on here expecting everyone to agree with you, sorry but we have to live with inept politicians who make decisions such as the Green energy Scheme over in N.I. which resulted in a subsidy of £160 to burn £100 worth of fuel resulting in £400 million wasted which WE are paying for. The smart meter roll out has been set up on a level as stupid as that. Suppliers were used to fit the meters because they thought that the UK public would be more likely to accept them. The rest of Europe ( Sweden and Germany excepted ) just made them all mandatary and used the equivalent of our DNO s to fit them quickly , cheaply and efficiently . Once again the "rank amateurs " in the government have messed it up once again
