Plughole gurgling

This is really annoying my mother!

The sink in the bathroom gurgles just after the last bit of water has drained away. She's tried sink unblocker.

Any other suggestions?

Why has she tried sink unblocker when obviously the water is draining away anyway.

She would have something to moan about if it didn't drain away. Why moan about it gurgling.

It will, air and water going downwards etc normal for it to do that.

its the water going down and pulling air with it, and gargles, no biggy, even ours has a gargle now and again, i prefer that to when none of it went down the hole!! took forever witha saucepan and throwing down the loo!! sink is bloked now though!! a gargle costs nothing!! think yourself lucky!!

Before we had the bathroom replaced it didn't do it and no other sink in our house does it, so why now? She tried sink unblocker as she thought the pipe might have narrowed somewhere by a blockage.

Forget I asked - all I wanted was some helpful replies and I get blokes telling me and my mum to stop moaning! :mad:

Not sure what you had done in the bathroom or how the waste pipes have been joined eg. linked to the sink and bath? We had a problem when letting bath water go with it gurgling and sucking in the sink. We cured the problem by putting an anti cyphan valve in it lets air in so does not pull on the water in the u bend on the sink.

Go to a plumbers merchant and have a chat they may be able to help?

It is a common problem you have. (thats if you see it as a problem) Most people dont even think about the noise the water makes when the sink empties. Some people are just irritated about the most minor things. :rolleyes:

It wakes everyone up in the night so it's a little more than a minor annoyance.
