Rear window smashed
Hi I hope that someone can give me some advice on the following.
I recently bought a car from someone at my workplace. The car has no tax no mot and no insurance and is parked at the car dealership i work in. Recently the cars rear window was smashed overnight by someone with a wine bottle. I returned to work the next day and was told that my employer is not liable for any repair cost to my vehicle even though the incident happened on there property. Do I have a leg to stand on when trying to claim the repair to be done by them?

Why would your employer being liable?

If you parked your car on my drive and someone walked off the street and smashed a window, I wouldn't be liable.
Oh, and I hope the car is SORN'd or you risk getting a fine for no insurance!0 -

Surely the whole point of car insurance is to cover things like this, but without insurance you would be responsible.0

Try claiming from your employer. They might pay for the rear windscreen and give you a p45 too.0
