The perceived wisdom seems to be that you can't. According to some forums tfl say "there is no way to link a registration number to a particular instance of that car entering the zone" Well if that is the case how do they know to send a PCN for non-payment? There is a phone number 0343 222 2222 for payment, maybe you could phone and ask but I bet it is automated. You could set up an account to pay by credit card and they will only take a payment if you enter the zone. Do it today and you might avoid the penalty. AND you get a discount of a whole pound!0

I use an app that tells me if I have been into the zone. Too late for you now, but possibly one for the future...0
