Hi! My broadband is not fab & drops out occiaionally.....so I have tried to sideload in the past onto Fire Stick but in 90% of cases gave up as failed/internet dropped etc.
I'm trying to download Mplayer as one of the apps on Fire Stick needs it? Any ideas??? Have googled it but seems that ES file explorer is used a lot (I have it on stick but have real issues even moving the pointer with my fire remote-1/2 the time it just won't move)...are there any easy ways I can download this?
I have 'downloader' as an app (fairly new-allows easy download of new Edition of Kodi & subsequent new versions-it's free & no need to sideload-it's on amazon app store)...but can't find any link that would allow me to download mplayer directly to Fire Stick???
Also....similar to above but does anyone have an easy way to download google play store onto Fire Stick (I have an account with google).
If anyone could post 'baby' step instructions in complete laymans terms-that would be fab. Thanks if anyone can assist!

Can't help with those specific apps but Apps2Fire works for me on a Fire stick and box.
Install Apps2Fire on a smart phone, make sure both the phone and Fire are on the same Wi-FI network. Make sure the app you wish to transfer is on the phone.0 -
Hi-thats great-thanks-will check it out! Looks like it's simply a case of putting in Fire Stick IP address from a very quick scoot about on google. Will this download Google play store itself? I'm sure there are some APK links or apps somewhere for the Google Play Store-will save sideloading.
Nipping out until 6ish-any other replies much appreciated & THANKS innerzone!!!! Will probably load on my tablet that uses Wifi as easier to navigate than on my Galaxy s3 mini.0 -
Hi.......downloaded the apps2fire-managed to install the Google Play Store on Fire-but it said 'this version is not compatible with your device???!'. Tried googling & downloading old APKS but struggling to install them.
Anyone any ideas? Also does anyone have a link that gives you 'baby/step by step' instructions for app2fire? I've no idea at all how I downloaded & installed the Play Store! Not done the Mplayer yet as tablet is charging.....any thoughts??? Sory to be thick (!).0 -
I have tried & tried to get Google Play Store on my firestick. I CAN download it but I get the message in my previous post-'not compatible with this version of device'.
I have downloader, ES file explorer (confuses the hell out of me-correct me if I'm wrong but will only work with paid for remote??? The fire stick remote doesn't seem to work well at all) & apps2fire on Fire Tv Stick.
I did see some videos from Solo Man on You Tube but did not understand them (using mo mrket, es explorer etc) & there seems to be a way of downloading any games strore app individually WITHOUT downloading Play Sore itself to Fire Stick.
I particularly need MPlayer free for Android for an app.
Can anyone give me baby steps (i.e step 1)-download from this htttp, step 2)-click this etc-I'm a bit thick on these things!) to achieve this? If only there was a USB port on a fire stick-all would be easy then lol!
Sorry for any typos-can't find my specs!:beer:0 -
A Firestick uses Fire OS, which is based on Android, which is based on Linux, so guess some software will not work, especially if software checks versions.
Apparently Kodi is installed via adb. and mplay may work similar. Have a look at the link below.
