Sony make awesome laptops, the quality is great and the internal components used are top notch, and best of all the lcd displays on them are amazing, they use x black technology. I think toshiba are rubbish, i work on them on a daily basis and we get alot in that have broken. Especialy the mother boards and they are very expensive. But the daddy of all laptops are thinkpads!!!!, they rock and can take a beating!!0

Sorry forgot to mention another thing, toshiba don't make laptops, as with most other laptop brands they have contracts with smaller business and then stick their "toshiba" label on them, so don't worry too much about brands.0

The problem with PC Pro's A-List (which I usually check out too, to be fair) is that as soon as anything gets put on there, the chances of you finding it cheap goes right down. Whereas some of the other models they tested might be available much cheaper that the price they told PC Pro. Plus it doesn't necessarily mean it's the most suitable for a person's needs. For example, it only has Vista Home, whereas he(?) needs Vista Business.0

PC Pro has given me a few bum steers in the past too and if you look carefully they get mugged off all the time with over specced machines at low prices that win the awards but then can't be bought with those specs for anywhere near that price & never could !!!
+ when you bring it to there attention what do they do ?
Ignore you

I bought my first PC off the PC Pro A-List and it was brilliant (still works fine today over 6 years later). But you have to buy it as soon as the magazine with the review comes out. Some of them computers have been on the A-List for over a month. Doesn't give the computer companies a chance to bump their price up as soon as they realise they've won an award.
But like I said, the main thing to remember is that all the losers will be available fairly soon at reduced prices (especially those sold by websites that set their own prices), whereas the winner will sell based on the award, so there's no need to reduce the price. Same with all electrical good when they're reviewed. The chances of finding the one that all the magazines recommend cheaper than the RRP are usually extremely small. This is especially true for hifis, televisions and other things that last a bit longer.0 -
yeah they are good computers actually. I just like that shop as it's where i got mine and would recommend it... which is what this site is about... isn't it?
It's not called "recommend a company that I've a vested interest in" its called "Money saving expert" and your prices do not save money.
The only reason you got one from there is probably because you got staff discount.0
