UPS huge charges

Not sure this is the right place...
I have sent some packages from Denmark to the UK using UPS to avoid carrying them on the plane. The total set of 4 packages was invoiced as about £120. Imagine my surprise having found a credit card bill of over £1100 for the lot.
On the phone with a CR I have been told its against their T's & C's to be both the sender and receiver..? So far the on-line receipts show the accorded value, but the additional amounts have been taken in separate transactions, for which i don't yet have a receipt. I have called my CC company. What else can i do and can they actually do this?
Also, for 3 of the packages they charged me £130+, for the 4th, sent two days later, they charged me £570 extra. Same size/dimensions. What am I missing here?

Have they said that the dimensions/weight don't match the dimensions/weight you declared online?0
-
No, that was the first thing that came to mind, although I actually round the values up (So for a 17Kg package I declare 20KG, for a 52cm dimension I declare 55, etc)0
-
So what exactly are they saying the extra charge is for?
Should you have used a different service to 'export' to yourself?0 -
How did you generate the shipping labels? Did you do this yourself or use a third party?0
-
So when you said "why have I been charged this extra amount?" What did they say?0

Another one of those "drip feed" threads.
Very frustrating for respondents..0
