Question about breakdown cover

scenario:

car breaksdown away from home.

RAC or AA etc.. tow you your garage.

garage says they cant fix car.

You then have to take car to another garage.

can you then use RAC..AA etc... and ring them to tow car from the garage to the new garage.

assume you have the national breakdown upgraded breakdown cover

  • Presumably you know who your breakdown cover is with, though - you seem unsure in your OP.

If you know, then the policy documents will be on their website. You'll probably find just ringing and asking them is easiest.

I don't believe they will transport your car for you. It's a breakdown service, and they've done their job.

Then read them on their websites before - presumably - purchasing.

If you've specifically requested them to take the car to somewhere in particular, and that destination cannot/will not accept it, then I suspect you'll be on your own. Especially if it's been left there and the refusal is later...

    Recovery away from home
If your car can't be repaired at the roadside or at a local garage the same day, we'll arrange for one of the following: the vehicle, you and your passengers to be taken to your destination or home; accommodation for one night; or hire of another vehicle.
