Redundancy pay forfeit

Hi

Was hoping for some advice on my current situation. I have worked for my employer for 8 years and have recently accepted voluntary redundancy. I have now applied for a different role within the same company and have an interview tomorrow. My question is if I am offered the job but turn it down will I forfeit my redundancy pay?

Thanks

Ask YOUR company or tell us who it is so we can ask them for you!

Most likely it is in the VR Agreement that you should already have.

Why apply for the job if you're going to turn it down?
I am not a cat (But my friend is)
  • Because it's not the only job I've applied for.

You need to get the terms you want into your VR agreement so their is no arguments later.

Does the agreement not say the conditions for it to be paid?

usually things like must leave and cannot return within a certain period.

Some often include terms that once agreed you cannot change your mind or get a different job and not leave.

It would be unusual for a company to offer VR and then employ you in a different position.

It would often be written into the VR agreement that this would require repayment of the VR payment. Although it's been widely done in the public (and ex-public) sector a lot where they get VR from the salaried roles and then come back in "consulting" on day rates.
    Thinking critically since 1996....
  • The current policy at RBS is that if you take VR you cant come back as a permanent employee or contractor for 2 years.

If you move internally before vr is agreed and paid i would not expect you to get vr. If you get vr from rbs i would expect them to automatically reject your cv for any roles you apply for.

Im an rbs employee and was a line manager until around a year ago. Let us know if you are told any diffrent as im expecting to get the bullet shortly myself.

RBS policy was no return within 12 months if you take VR.

I left in December, and that was the direct answer to my direct question.
