Barclaycard Money Transfers

in Credit cards
I have two Barclaycards, a Platinum and Initial, which are both clear. As soon as I cleared them, the money transfer offers I had when the cards had debts suddenly vanished.
I'm not looking at using them right now, but they're handy for saving on interest charges for things like car insurance.
Any idea why they might have vanished? Has anyone else had a similar experience?
Thanks!

Has any balance transfer offers gone too?0

How did you clear them? If you have taken out new credit for this purpose (such as a balance transfer) your internal credit rating with Barclaycard may have dropped.0

jonesMUFCforever - the balance transfer offers are still there - I have two available on both pretty much every month.
Ben8282 - I used one for my car insurance (the money transfer fee was less than the interest on the car insurance) so I cleared it with regular monthly payments through the interest free period. The other one was a balance transfer cleared with regular monthly payments before the end of the interest free period.0 -
Don't take it personal OP, I'm in the same boat. I regularly used to get BT/money transfer offers monthly from Barclaycard for years (when the card was in debt, 0% of course) but since I decided to clear the balance about 3 months ago - nothing! I keep getting the same crappy life of balance transfer 'offer' for 6.9% with a 3% fee and no other 0% BT deals or money transfers.
By my reckoning if you are in debt to Barclaycard the offers will keep coming but as soon as you have a zero balance, they dry up.
Anyone else have a zero balance with them?I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly, and I can move and merge threads there. Any views are mine and not the official line of moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I clear my Barclaycard every month and it's one of their cashback cards. I get 0% offers every month at pretty good rates, often both money and balance transfer deals. BUT, I never use them because my only other CC balance is already at 0% AND using the Barclaycard and clearing it every month earns me cashback which I'd lose if I used them for holding a long term balance.
Do you not use it at all CandyApple?174 BPM >> CC Balance (0%) -£3,565.99 - Target DFD Dec 2017 >> Loan (Car) (3.1%) -£19,803.74 - Target DFD Nov 20200 -
I too am waiting on a BT/MT offer from Barclaycard as there are no offers available to me at the moment and weren't, even when I had a balance on there.
It was at it's limit of 11k around 4 months ago, but I reduced it down to around £6k, then around 2-3 weeks ago, I completely cleared the balance.
They've said that the accounts are reviewed from time to time, so it's just a waiting game I guess. My 0 balance is yet to reflect on my credit history from when it was 11k, so until it does and I hopefully become more eligible for it, it's my only real means to transfer from another CC.0 -

Nope, don't use it at all. I took it out a few years ago, one of them long term something silly like 36 months 0% so I did the BT way back then and just set the DD up to collect the min repayment ever since until I cleared the balance back in Nov.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. I paid off one of my barclaycards last month, as the BT was ending on 1st Feb, I have BT offers on both accounts, 6.9% for life as mentioned above, but now my account shows as 0 balance all the BT have disappeared, I was hoping when I cleared the BT another offer would appear, so its just a waiting game now...I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards. I had this when I cleared mine last year, but they soon appeared again and with a longer term.
In my experience Barclaycard are generally pretty generous with their existing customer offers. Another of my 0% deals with them ends next week so hopefully they will continue to be!0 -
i had 2 cards same like the op and i cleared the oustanding debt and for about a month after all i was offered was BT and then after that i got a BT on both cards and a MT on one card for 12 months interest free.
