First Time Buyer Gleeson Homes

Putting aside HTB, surely the houses must be valuing up ok for mortgage purposes for those who have the 'normal' 5-10% deposit?
My experience of buying a new build was ' will be ready in December, oh, actually we meant the following June' - I had to rent for 6 months to avoid losing my buyer.
I have no idea how they are getting mortgages on them because they are much more expensive than any of the property in the immediate area which is large council estate. When you consider they are asking £92k for a new 2 bed and the asking price of a nearby ex local authority house is just over £80k for a 3 bed.0 -
I am interested in this site, but would go for the bigger bedroomed house, I take on board the comments on value decreasing due to the area but having lived on the estate for my whole life in a variety of difference houses I feel you would be lucky to get an ex council house that isn't plagued by damp, mould and requires a significant amount of work.
This would be our home until the children are old enough to move into their own homes and therefore shouldn't be an issue.
I agree the customer service is extremely lacking and the delays frustrating with very little communication. Families have now started to move into the development which is a good sign.
It's worth noting as well that the area is undergoing significant regeneration with a new health centre, shops and roads. It's A nice place to live now now contrary to other people's beliefs so as far as I am concerned this will further improve it.0 -
