trying to connect to wifi

Can anyone help please.Well BT admitted today that there is a fault on my Fibre Infinity they are apparently trying to find the fault and have advised in meantime to connect to a bt hotspot. So i try to connect to BT WIFI X and get

"windows security network authentication please enter user credentials"

have no idea what to do can anyone help please.
Dont know if its connected but when i use the nectar extension the yahoo search is bringing up cached pages
I can connect to my hub but its verrrrrrrry slow so apologies if i take a time to reply

    You're connecting to the wrong thing. You need to find an open network called BTWifi-with-FON and connect to that. You won't be asked for log on credentials then. Next step is to open a webrowser and you'll be taken straight to a sign in page for BT wifi. Tick "BT Internet user", use the email and password for your BT account as the log in details and you're good to go.
