Using voice on the phone gets reasonable results, so not down to my voice. Just tech in an early stage at that point.
Mate just happened to visit as i was shouting at the computer trying to get it to do what it was told
He thought i was hilarious...

Tech in an early stage?! Pfft! I was at the Computer Shopper Show in 1991, where they tried demonstrating speech recognition on a PC.
Not one single one of the dozen-or-so pre-programmed commands was recognised, leaving the demonstrator screaming into the microphone, trying out different accents, and trying to sell several-hundred-pounds-worth of kit anyway, because it really does work sometimes. :rotfl:
