Losing NCB? Please help

Hi humans, new to this forums,
Could you please help me to settle things with Aviva insurance please?
Basically I had an accident on the 22nd April 2016 last year in a cross road intersection, I was about to turn right, stopped to see if the road was clear to proceed was slowing moving if the road was clear because cars turning left were blocking my view while i was proceeding a car came out of no where and it hit my car, nothing major just a bumper scratch, to make long story short.
We exchanged details, police were called, went home called up my insurance company Aviva to report the accident, neither I or the other party claimed insurance the case was closed, I still called Aviva time to time to check on my car insurance or if the other party claimed, three months should have gone by and yet the other party didn't claim anything so I thought my NCB was safe. Received an email from Aviva about my renewal quote, was shocked to see it had gone up too £3,689.67 and lost my 2 years of NCB. Really confused if no one claimed why am i still losing my NCB. No payments have been payed to any parties.
They said I accepted the blame for the accident, which I never did therefore losing my 2 years NCB, Please give me some advice on what to do.
Thank you

You're at fault. You pulled across the path of a vehicle that had right of way in his own lane.
If you don't agree you admitted fault, then register a complaint with your insurer and you can ask them to listen to the calls.
If no one has claimed for damage or injury, then your NCB should be re-instated.0 -
Are you 100% sure the other party didnt put in a claim?
Cars were blocking your view but you pulled out anyway? Thought about some lessons in defensive driving/Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Thanks for the reply and yes I am 100% sure the other party didn't claim, called them today and they said no payments have been payed at all.
I actually didn't pull out I was creeping forward slowly to make sure there weren't any cars, I saw the car coming straight and I stopped for it and they still managed to hit my car when there were enough space to go over me, they were speeding a little bit probably was late to drop their daughters to school.0 -
If no claims have been made then your ncd should be safe.
Ask avivA why you have not been awarded any for the current year and why you have lost the 2 you had and take it from their reply.
It may be that they temporarily reduced it when a policyholder is considered liable, or a claim has been paid out to a third party0 -
time to consider a dash cam, very cheap now a days"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

No payments, but have they declared it to their insurer and had their car inspected?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Likely just a case of the insurer keeping the claim open for a certain period of time to see if the third party comes forward.
It will be closed off after a certain period but the NCB will be reduced until that happens as any open claim will be considered fault until settled.
I'd just ring Aviva and ask them what Quentin mentioned. If it's still open you can try and push them into getting it closed and reinstating the bonus to where it should be.0
