Unused nil rate band

Options
Aunt has asked me to ask you very knowledgeable people the following question.

Aunt is now in her 90s and is thinking about the future. Her husband died in 1991 and she inherited everything he owned (not very much in financial terms, possibly a few thousand pounds). Since that time aunt has accrued some money over the years due to several inheritances (certainly more than the nil rate band of £325,000). Aunt is now asking if her nil rate band is still £325,000 or whether her husband's totally unused nil rate band can be added on to her own making a total of £650,000?

Any advice would be appreciated.
