Hotel Booking - Incorrect Name, Help!!

Hi,

I hope someone can offer me some reassurance. Some time ago, I booked to stay in an Ibis Hotel in France arriving tomorrow. When I checked my booking, I've mixed my first name and surname up so the booking is in the name of Mr John (my first name) rather than my surname.

I rang the helpline and as I took advantage of an early booking rate, the woman I spoke to couldn't make any alterations to my account but told me not to worry as it's a frequent mistake due to the layout of the booking website.

Despite what she said, I'm now panicking about the hotel not letting my wife and I check in due to my stupidity and am afraid that due to my basic French I will be unable to explain fully what has occurred.

Has anybody else done anything equally as stupid and did they get to stay in their hotel?

Thanks!
