Purchasing a house on Gumtree

gumtree?

Run.
We've sold a property through Gumtree. Until such time as Rightmove and the like allow private individuals to list, it seems a pretty reasonable approach if you don't feel your property needs an EA to shift it. Gumtree merely serves as the means by which the buyer and the seller find each other; after that point, it's all solicitors just like any other conveyance.0 -
I purchased a flat via Gumtree back in 2010.
Once price was agreed each party placed it into the hands of their respective solicitors and it completed."enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb0 -
The buying and selling happens with the conveyancers. The advert on gumtree is just that, an advert. No reason why it shouldn't be a good way of doing thing.
In terms of the offer I don't think it sounds like there's any point negotiating with this seller. If it were me, and I could let the house go without crying, I'd tell him if he won't accept under 300k then you won't be making any higher offers and wasting his time.0
