Made to order items

Hi,
I ordered a valentines day outfit online with Daddys little valentine on it for my daughter to wear on her first valentines day. I ordered on 13th January and was quoted as 3 week delivery time as items were made to order. It hasn't turned up in time and I contacted the company last night who have said I need to wait a further 14 days to allow royal mail time to deliver. Just wondering if anyone has any advice if there's anything I can do? Obviously when it does turn up now it's going to be of no use to me.
Thanks
Maggie

Which company is this, is it based in the UK (I suspect not)?0

If it WAS a UK company you bought from ... were the goods "made to order" (i.e. you selected from predefined options on their website, and then they got the goods made), or were the goods "personalised" (e.g. the goods include the name or photo of daughter or Daddy, or some other personalised message)?
The distinction is important ... you can cancel the first option relatively easily with legal backing and minimal costs; the latter option may make things a little more difficult to cancel without penalty.0 -
and if you paid by paypal theres always an "item not received" disputeEx forum ambassador

Did you give them a deadline, time is of the essence clause or just accept a 3 weeks quote.
Whilst I understand your frustration delivery time can vary greatly especially when you're looking at 3 week windows with the required date not far from the delivery quote.
Can you link to the website so peeps on here can look into it for you, it might help determine the nature of this personalisation mentioned in post 3.0
