Hi
I currently have a prepay smart meter, I'm looking to pay for my energy by direct debit. If I were to switch suppliers, can I go straight to a credit account?

Yes you can, however, from my experience, as soon as you mention you are on prepay meters, they are adamant that you can only move onto a prepay plan.
I did eventually manage to get onto a pay monthly.
It all depends on how your meters are registered on the database, whether as prepay or credit meters. If they are registered as credit meters (mine were, installed by OVO, even though I was PAYG), I found it is easy to move.
Other people I know, mainly ones who had smart PAYG installed with Utilita, have found it more problematic.0
