In the second call I told the person it was a bursary because that is what it says on my pay slip. I hope that clears things up...still I wait in limbo, not even a rejection yet...
Fair enough and it sounds as though there are failings in the banks training and employee understanding.
It does depend on your view though of course, one view is that you effectively have a job with a three year fixed term contract, and it's actually slightly worse than that simplistic description because if you overrun on your research, as many do, then there may not be funding to complete the degree, meaning that you either won't be earning or may have to take other employment.
Like many things you can view this from several viewpoints.0
