Nationwide £100.00 referral direct debits question

Just wondering if anyone has tried to cancel direct debits as soon as the account transfer to Nationwide has been completed? Did you get £100.00 anyway, or do you need to keep 2 DD until the payment is made?

Hi,
On the referral it doesn't state how long you have to keep the DD active.
When I completed my switch in July I had 2 DD's one of which I cancelled in December 2016 & this didn't affect me referral bonus.
One the T&C's it shows the following:
A minimum of two existing Direct Debits on the old account must be transferred as part of the switch. No other types of automated payments such as Standing Orders will count towards this criteria.
It doesn't state clearly how long you must keep the DD's so I would maybe ask them about it, you might need to have it active for 1 month to show that it was an active DD.
Sorry I couldn't be more clear, if you need anything else send me a PM.
Thanks Dxxx0 -
Good question i am in same situation, I plan to wait till bonus goes in then cancel the x2 DD, I guess when reading the t&c it doesn't say how long the DD's need to be active after the switch. Let me know otherwise.Mishomeister wrote: »Just wondering if anyone has tried to cancel direct debits as soon as the account transfer to Nationwide has been completed?
