Stick it out or leave?

I have had enough and feel I can't carry on in my job. Its been up and down for a while, but recently I have been told to put my personal feelings aside and realise that a particular type of people can be really nice if you disregard this one aspect about them that I feel uncomfortable about. I just can't get past this. My company pay me, but that doesn't mean I can disregard my feelings. Some staff seem to see it as a badge of honour that they will unflinchingly work with anyone.
I also feel uneasy that there are people who are interacting with said type of person completely unaware. For their wellbeing I think they should know, but we can't say anything. That makes me feel uneasy too.
I plan to leave September time anyway to find a job with more hours and new challenges, but what in the meantime? Would you stick it out ? 6 months isn't long but when you feel this way it seems forever. I'm tempted to quit and go and do any job ( be it temping or min wage) until September before I get so down I can't cope, or end up telling them where to get off and leaving on a bad note! I want to feel upbeat and happy when attending interviews not depressed and bitter!

Unless they're behaving in a way that is unacceptable in the work place, I'd guess must of us have had to work professionally with people we'd avoid like the plague in our personal lives.
If you're unhappy then move on, but don't be surprised if the same problem crops up again in the future.
What is the issue? You can't just leave us all hanging..
unpleasant personal habits? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Yeah I knew someone would ask. Fair enough it is the main focus of my issue. No nice way to say it - child sex offenders. I don't work in a prison or police force or for probation, so its not something I realistically thought I'd come across.0

Why not apply for other jobs and if you get offered one which you think will be better then resign then0

Ah, I misread your post - I though you were talking about work colleagues.
How do you know their history? Isn't it on a need to know basis, or is it an intrinsic part of the work you do?
Actually, that's academic. If it's something you don't want to do then start looking elsewhere. Why wait till September if you were planning to look elsewhere then anyway? Just bring the plans forward. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Thanks guys. I have been applying but no interviews yet. I guess the sensible thing is to stay but I'm feeling so unhappy right now I just feel like never going back!
This type of person doesn't crop up that often but what upset me the most is being told I must accept they can be nice. No I can't accept it.0 -
You don't have to accept whether specific groups of people can be nice. All you need to do is act in a professional manner towards them as your role dictates. So to that extent then you may need to put your personal feelings to one side. No-one has the right to tell you what you should think or feel. But they can expect a certain level of behaviour from you in the workplace, regardless of the client, unless there is (for example) aggression. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I feel for you ! As a mother I couldn't stay, and I certainly would struggle to compose myself !!
I have very strong views about these types of people. I don't believe they can ever be rehabilitated ! I feel society would be better off without them all together.
But it's about you, if you think you can cope until September then go for it. If you truly can't, register with agencies, try call centres etc
Good luck I hope you get something !0 -

Yes this is probably what they mean and I do regard myself as professional, but also feel I'm being disloyal to myself by hiding my feelings and treating someone with respect they don't deserve. Having said that, I totally see why a company can't be employing unprofessional people! I guess what I'm saying is I can't find a middle ground. Either me or my employer is going to be unhappy if I stay.0 -

My feelings exactly but I can't say this at work and feel I am being untrue to myself for not saying it!0 -
Then you've probably just answered your own original question.
