in Techie Stuff
I'm the very proud owner of Sonos players which are in the living room.
My query is - if I turn them off at the wall, switching the power sockets off, will they automatically reconnect to the wifi network when switched back on again?
It'll not be worth turning them off if I have to faff about doing the reconnection each time. I've had a root around the net but failed to find the answer.

Why?
Can't understand the attitude! It was a simple enough question.
In edit ...or just not techie enough?it'll not be worth turning them off if I have to faff about doing the reconnection each time.
It's like asking "is it worth switching my lights off at night if I have to switch them on again when it gets dark".
EDIT: in all honesty if you try it yourself you will answer your own question and help out others4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Aint no sunshine ☀️ Octopus gas fixed dec 24 @ 5.74 tracker again+ Octopus Intelligent Flux leccy0 -

No attitude here, possibly not the same for others.
You say you've had a look around the net, but not found an answer, why not try it yourself?
You're not going to break anything?
You will then have an answer and become the first person on the web to know what happensif I turn them off at the wall, switching the power sockets off, will they automatically reconnect to the wifi network when switched back on again?Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Well, if you don't know then just say so! No shame in that as I don't know either.
I asked if any did know, is that not what this board is about? Techie advice? What is a faff to me may well not be a faff to others.
So, no-one else knows?0 -
That escalated quickly! :rotfl:0

Seems the unhelpful comments have been removed but others have quoted so the remarks remain.
Ever hopeful here... :rotfl:0 -
So ... have you tried yet turning them off at the wall then turning them back on to see if they auto-connect?
If nobody knows, nobody will be able to tell you, so that's the only way you'll find out.
According to this thread I found in a 10 second Google:Power failures can cause some odd behavior with networks in general. If Sonos is missing or acting strangely after a power failure, you should be able to solve the problem by simply restarting the router followed by restarting each Sonos component. You shouldn't have to perform any factory resets or set up the whole system again; once the reboots have been completed, the system will show up again as it did previously.0 -
I didn't search for power failure but thank you for the link, it's helpful.0
